Jocy(:
Please help anyone who has hair on their head, I am desperate!

I am at my wits’ end with my hair.

I was told by a hairdresser in December that my hair was on the brink of entire destruction and that I need to stop straightening it so often as well as keeping it very well-conditioned and adding something moisturising to the ends every single day.

I’ve been doing ALL OF THE ABOVE. I have straightened it ONCE in 5 weeks and I’ve been putting argan oil on the ends every day, which makes it softer, but the ends are still SO hard and bristly.

I don’t know what to do! I think something to do with it is that my hair is used to the soft water in my area back home and it doesn’t like the hard London water at all.

Today I bought Charles Worthington Moisture Seal shampoo and conditioner, but please, if ANYONE with dry hair and/or very hard water has any recommendations as to what I can use/do, that would be incredible.

Please please please please please!

Totally wanna talk about Moroccanoil (aka argan oil)

So I explained the other day about the hideous state my hair is officially in. The reason I say “officially” is because the hairdresser told me so.

Anyhow when I was in the salon she put this stuff in my hair, and upon asking her what it was she said “Moroccanoil”. I had heard of this, but as referred to in its purest form that is argan oil. I heard about this on various beauty and makeup vlogs (yes that is my guilty pleasure, what you gonna do?) and have always been intrigued. Anywho the hairdresser told me that I should get it and put it on my hair when it is wet, and then also put it through the ends every single day, as it improves its elasticity making it less susceptible to breakage, therefore improving split ends and making hair less porous(so it dries much faster) and softer.

Honestly, I wasn’t really convinced. For £30 for 100ml I just figured it was one of those money making scams that we are tricked into my gold-digging cosmetics companies. However, very quickly I began changing my mind.

After only a couple of hours of having Moroccanoil on my hair I could feel a difference. It was tenfold softer. But I figured maybe this was just because the lady in the hairdresser washed it nicely. However, the following day (after I had applied it again as I found out my mum uses Moroccanoil and leant me some of hers) my hair was noticeably healthier looking, it was more springy and bouncy not to mention amazingly soft. Prior to this my hair was frizzled to a frisp and Stuart was often pointing this out to me. But suddenly my hair looked lovely and healthy again!

Last night I washed my hair for the first time since using the Moroccanoil twice. Usually with every single hairwash I moult at least one handful of hair and have to clean out the plughole afterwards, not to mention pick the strands out of the bath and off of me! But last night, no word of a lie, I moulted THREE STRANDS OF HAIR. Also after a hairwash I can usually see tens of snapped off ends of my hair where the weak parts have literally broken off. I only saw TWO of these.

After washing my hair I applied Moroccanoil and then my normal hair mousse and I put it into a couple of pigtails. When I woke up this morning my waves were perfectly soft and bouncy, and I added a bit more Moroccanoil and they have remained this way all day.

I went online earlier to do some research because I was sure I could find the stuff cheaper than £30 for 100ml, and I was right. Moroccanoil is a brandname, and it is the argan oil but with commercialised stuff added to it, not to mention fancy packaging. I ordered 100ml of pure argan oil in a simple orange-tinted bottle (prevents oxidisation and sunlight damage) with a dropper dispenser for £9.95, a third of the price of the commercial stuff! The added bonus with the one I ordered is that as it is it in its purest form it can not only be used on hair, but on skin and nails also. I reduces stretch marks, scars, eczema, acne, and it strengthens nails. Usually I would be SO sceptical of this, but I’ve seen it work first hand, it has literally saved my hair!

However I did find out that Moroccanoil do a hair mousse designed for curly hair, and I did order this which was quite pricey (£26) but as I do not want to straighten it anymore it is important to me that I am confident with my hair curly, and I feel that with this product I will be killing two birds with one stone; making my curls look lovely and conditioning my hair with Moroccanoil. Additionally, I will not have to use the argan oil every day as on hair wash days I will just be using the mousse. Lastly, I don’t spend money on any makeup at all aside from a couple of mascaras a year for about £18, so for me personally splashing out on my hair is totally justified.

I’m so excited about this discovery and absolutely cannot wait to have the long hair I’ve always wanted but haven’t had in years due to heat damage!!!
